Step into the vibrant energy of Beltane — the ancient Celtic festival celebrating life force, creativity, and connection. The earth is fully awake, and this is a time of expression, movement, and embodied vitality.
Held by candlelight in one of Southampton’s most atmospheric hidden spaces, this intimate evening Kundalini Yoga & Meditation session invites you to energise your body, open your heart, and reconnect with what lights you up.
Led by Jo, this is an uplifting, accessible practice open to everyone — no prior experience of Kundalini Yoga needed.
Set inside the 700-year-old Medieval Merchant’s House, the space holds warmth and vitality. This isn’t a passive practice — it’s a consciously energising experience designed to awaken your inner fire while keeping you grounded and centred.
What to expect
We’ll begin with relaxed social time and a short tour of the house, giving you space to arrive, settle, and connect with the setting and each other.
The session itself weaves together breathwork, intention setting, gentle movement, mantra, and stillness — all carefully guided to help shift stuck energy and bring you back into balance. The practice supports the nervous system, clears the mind, and grounds the body, so you leave feeling lighter, clearer, and steady.
We’ll close the evening slowly, with space to integrate before heading back out into the night.
A note on Kundalini Yoga
No experience of Kundalini Yoga is necessary, however it is quite different to other forms of yoga so there is some information below about what to expect…
Kundalini Yoga is often thought of as the ‘Yoga of Awareness’ and can be more comprehensive and embodied practice than many other styles of yoga, working not just with the physical body, but deeply with the mind, nervous system and energetic body too.
This is a dynamic and powerful practice, designed to give you a direct experience of your own inner state — not something to achieve, but something to feel.
During the session, we consciously work with breath, mudra (hand positions), eye focus, mantra, body locks, and postures, weaving them together to harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body. This combination supports the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, expands lung capacity, purifies the blood, and brings the whole system back into balance.
The result is a sense of clarity, steadiness, and wholeness across body, mind, and soul.
You don’t need any prior Kundalini Yoga experience. Everything is guided step by step, and you’re always invited to listen to your body and move at your own pace.
