This summer, we’re inviting you to move, breathe, and simply be in one of the most soul-stirring spaces in the South.

Start your day slowly, gently, and with intention in one of the South’s most peaceful and historic spaces. Morning Flow and meditation at Christchurch Castle & Norman House is your chance to arrive, breathe, and ease into the day feeling calm, clear, and grounded.

Held within the grounds of Christchurch Castle and Norman House, this unique space blends nature, stillness, and centuries of story. With the remains of a motte-and-bailey castle and the beautifully preserved Norman House nearby, the energy here feels quiet, spacious, and perfect for a mindful morning reset.

Led by Velvet, this is a gentle, accessible session open to everyone. Velvet is trained in a range of yoga styles and breathwork, with her classes offering a deeply relaxing experience that sits somewhere between yoga nidra and a flowing vinyasa. Expect guided breathwork, soft, mindful movement, and a focus on deep relaxation – helping you start your day feeling grounded, open, and at ease. And if you’re tempted to continue the morning slowly, you might even find yourself joining her afterwards for a classic oat milk flat white!

What to expect

You’ll arrive in the calm of the morning, with soft light stretching across the castle grounds. Surrounded by history and open space, Velvet will guide you through a gentle 60-minute yoga flow designed to wake up the body slowly and intentionally.

You can choose to stay a little longer and drop into a 30-minute mindfulness session, giving yourself space to pause, reflect, and fully settle before the day begins. The aim is simple: to help you connect – to your breath, your body, and the peaceful atmosphere all around you.

There’s something special about starting your day here. The stillness, the history, the openness – it all invites you to slow down. You’ll leave feeling clear-headed, grounded, and ready for the day ahead.

Need to know

  • Arrive from 9:20am to settle in (we start at 9:30am)

  • This is an outdoor session so please dress for the weather.

  • Please bring your own mat, water, and an extra layer for warmth.

  • All bodies and levels welcome – come as you are

This collaboration with English Heritage allows us to share the quiet magic of Christchurch Castle & Norman House  in a new way – one that honours the space and creates something truly unique.
