Sundown Slow Flow at Knowlton Church & Earthworks

Outdoor Yoga with Sam at Knowlton Church & Earthworks

There’s something pretty special about practicing yoga in a place that’s been holding space for centuries.

Set within the ancient grounds of Knowlton Church and Earthworks, this slow, functional Yang/Yin class invites you to move, breathe, and properly switch off in one of the most peaceful, atmospheric spots in Dorset.

We’ll gather as the evening softens for a true sundowner session, surrounded by open fields, ancient earthworks, and the quiet presence of the old church ruins. It’s a space that naturally encourages stillness, reflection, and connection.

What to expect

This is your midweek reset. Calm, grounding, and quietly powerful.

Sam will guide you through a beautifully balanced practice, blending slow, intentional Yang movement with longer, deeply restorative Yin holds.

Expect a gentle, functional flow to build warmth in the body, followed by slower Yin postures designed to release tension and encourage stillness. There will always be options, so you can move in a way that works for your body, with space to pause, breathe, and settle.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with no pressure or expectations, just an opportunity to feel good.

About Sam

With a wealth of training and experience across functional yoga, Yin, anatomy, chakras and meridians, Sam brings a thoughtful and down-to-earth approach to every class.

She is passionate about making yoga inclusive, accessible, and genuinely enjoyable, no matter your experience level.

Her sessions are open to everyone, with participants ranging from 16 to 83. You’ll be guided in a safe and supportive way, encouraged to find your own rhythm, and welcomed into a warm, friendly space where you can feel completely at ease.
